Designed by Mikko Kärkkäinen and manufactured in Finland, this 880 mm suspension model showcases solid wood construction with a slim 40 x 40 mm profile, paired with a compact canopy measuring 220 x 110 mm. At its core, the L 40 integrates advanced microprism and honeycomb lens optics that shape a soft, low-glare downward light, achieving a Unified Glare Rating below 19. With a color temperature of 2700 K, 3000 K or 4000 K and a high color rendering index of Ra = 93, the light delivers crisp, natural tones that enhance both décor and daily activity. The LED source offers a lifespan of 50,000 hours, ensuring long-term reliability with minimal maintenance.

This version is equipped with optional Casambi (Bluetooth) control, enabling smooth, continuous dimming via smartphone, tablet, or the Tunto EnOcean wireless switch, requiring only a simple 2-wire connection at the ceiling outlet. The suspension height is adjustable up to 2 meters, with a 3-meter power cable that can be shortened to suit your space.

Built to Class II safety standards with an IP20 rating, the L 40 is intended for indoor use only and should be installed by qualified personnel. As a natural material, the oak's grain and tone may evolve gracefully over time, adding character to this thoughtfully engineered pendant.

Which optic should I choose?
