Sowden CL2 Ceiling Lamp Shade

The Sowden CL2 Ceiling Lamp Shade is a striking silicone shade designed by George Sowden, combining bold colour contrast with a sculptural, tactile form. Finished in a distinctive orange, black and white palette, it measures Ø 21 x H 20 cm, making it a versatile addition to any pendant setup seeking character and warmth.

This shade belongs to the Shades collection, launched in 2020 after Sowden discovered the exceptional way silicone diffuses light. The material offers a soft, even glow while remaining non-toxic, easy to clean, shock-resistant and fade-resistant, ensuring the shade retains its vivid colours over time.

The CL2 is sold as a standalone shade, without ceiling rose or electrical components. It is compatible with any E27 pendant fitting and accepts an E27 LED bulb of up to 15 W (bulb not included). For those looking to complete the setup, the Sowden Ceiling Rose Kit — comprising cable, ceiling fitting and E27 bulb holder — is available separately.

Designed by George Sowden, a pioneering figure in contemporary design known for his playful use of colour and form, the CL2 shade brings a distinctive sculptural quality to any interior. Its compact scale and expressive palette make it equally suited to statement single installations or creative multiples grouped together.

A refined choice for those seeking to personalise their lighting with durable materials and confident design, the CL2 shade combines Sowden's signature aesthetic with practical, everyday functionality.
