Santa & Cole Cestita Metálica Table Lamp

The Cesta family of lamps are created by Miguel Mila, since 1962. The family is ever-expanding with the changing needs and modern technological developments. The Santa & Cole CestitaMetálica Table Lamp is a mini version of the CestaMetálica table lamp. It combines fragility and sturdiness in a single design.

The lampshade is made of white opal glass. The sphere is a reminiscent of an opal glass globe that Miguel Mila once found outside a glass factory. It is carefully laid in a steel basket with a sleek finish. Cesta in Spanish means basket. The design symbolizes a basket holding a precious opal glass sphere. The lamp was manually produced by European craftsmen. The opal shade was made by a traditional glass blowing technique. It evenly distributes the light from the illuminant. A dimmer is included in the switch on the power cable. It is used to change the intensity of the light from soft to radiant.

In 2015, Santa & Cole revisited the original design to create the Santa & Cole CestitaMetálica Table Lamp. A metal framework replaces the traditional wooden structure, without a handle. With the advent of LEDs, the lamp becomes an eco-friendly, energy-saving product, providing a bright, ambient light. It occupies very little space and can fit into a small shelf because of its petite size. The Santa & Cole CestitaMetálica Table Lamp can be used as a decorative furnishing, reading light, or table lamp to brighten any dark corner in your office or home.
