The Silk Lantern Pendant by GUBI is a refined lighting design that brings a rarely seen work by Ejner Larsen and Aksel Bender Madsen into contemporary interiors. Originally designed in 1951 and presented at the Cabinetmakers' Guild Exhibition, the piece was never put into production until now, marking its long-awaited debut through GUBI. The design translates the familiar lantern form through the lens of Danish modernism, merging Japanese-inspired lightness with a sculptural clarity that defined the duo's celebrated body of work.

Crafted from 100% natural silk, the cylindrical shade diffuses light into a soft, atmospheric gradient of brightness and shadow, creating an intimate glow suited to both residential and hospitality settings. The shade is framed above and below by rings of FSC®-certified walnut veneer (FSC® C176589), lending warmth and natural texture, while a lacquered steel structure provides definition and gives the pendant a floating, weightless appearance. The pendant is available with a natural white silk shade and a black semi-matt base finish.
