Frama Sutoa Chest of Drawers

Designed by Keiji Ashizawa in Tokyo, the Sutoa Oak is a sculptural storage system built for organizing objects with both precision and ease. Its name derives from the Japanese word for "to contain," a fitting title for a piece that balances industrial structure with warm, natural materials. Seven stackable solid oak drawers rest within a minimal powder-coated steel frame, creating a striking contrast between raw material and refined engineering.

Practicality is at the core of its design: each drawer fits neatly within the one below it, allowing for clean, space-efficient storage that adapts to a variety of interiors. Integrated handles and wheels make the entire unit easy to move, giving it the flexibility to shift from a living room to a studio or workspace without effort. This mobility, paired with its detachable drawer system, makes Sutoa a genuinely versatile storage solution for evolving spaces.

Crafted from a powder-coated steel frame and solid oiled oak shelving, the piece measures H 116.5 x W 67 x D 53 cm. It is made in Lithuania and finished with careful attention to detail, reflecting FRAMA's commitment to considered, long-lasting design. To preserve its finish, clean the wood with a soft cloth wrung in clean water, avoiding chemical cleaners, and dry thoroughly after each cleaning. The steel frame can be maintained with a ph-neutral soap and a damp sponge or cloth.
