Frama Rivet Typecase

The Rivet Typecase by Frama is a compartmentalized aluminum shelf designed to store and display your most cherished objects. Conceived by designer Jonas Trampedach in 2014, it is built using a distinctive riveting technique that creates perpendicular joints between separate, laser-cut raw aluminum sheets. Each piece is hand-assembled through a cold-forming process using a hammer, making every Typecase entirely unique in character and finish.

Crafted from untreated aluminum with a thickness of 4 mm, the Rivet Typecase measures H 44.6 / W 44.6 / D 16.1 cm and can hold up to 10 kg, depending on wall material and mounting. It comes with a separate backplate for easy mounting. Due to the raw and unfinished nature of the material, surface scratches and natural irregularities may be present from the outset, and the aluminum will continue to patinate over time, developing marks and tinted tones that add depth and individuality to the piece.

Suitable for both indoor and outdoor use, the Rivet Typecase will not rust or deteriorate when placed outdoors, instead acquiring a graceful patina that enhances its industrial character. Maintenance is simple: clean with a soft cloth wrung out in clean water or mild soap, avoiding chemical cleaners, and dry thoroughly afterward to prevent streaks or scratches, paying special attention to the rivets and edges.

Designed by Jonas Trampedach in 2018 and made in Bosnia, the Rivet Typecase embodies a symbiosis of craftsmanship and industrial production, rooted in a technique first developed as an alternative to welding aluminum.
