Design House Stockholm Yoga Figurine

Yoga by Design House Stockholm brings the quiet discipline of movement into sculptural form. Designed by the celebrated Swedish ceramicist Lisa Larson, this figurine translates decades of personal yoga practice into clay, capturing a body poised between tension and calm. Left unglazed and raw, the surface reveals the honest, tactile nature of the material, while the plump, rounded forms stand in gentle contrast to the vigor of the poses they depict. Each figure rests on a small woven bamboo mat, grounding the piece both visually and conceptually.

Originally created in 1982 as personal studio pieces, the Yoga figurines were later adapted for wider production in close collaboration with Design Director Margot Barolo, who worked to preserve the original proportions despite the natural shrinkage of pigmented stoneware during firing. The result is a faithful continuation of Larson's vision: sculptures that favor inner balance and emotional resonance over conventional beauty.

The figurine is available in Black and Light Grey, and can be selected in four distinct poses — No. 1, No. 2, No. 3 and No. 4 — each representing a different moment of stillness or motion within the practice.

Crafted from clay with a bamboo mat, the figurine measures 5.7 cm in width, 11.2 cm in depth, and 10.3 cm in height, weighing 0.33 kg. It should be cared for with a simple wipe using a dry cloth, and is not suitable for dishwasher cleaning. Made in Thailand, each piece serves as a quiet, tactile reminder to seek balance between body, mind, and spirit.
