Design House Stockholm Pick Up Serving Tongs

Designed by Stig Ahlström for Design House Stockholm, the Pick Up Serving Tongs are a versatile kitchen tool built for cooking, serving, and eating alike. Their clean, functional silhouette reflects a distinctly Scandinavian approach to design, where everyday objects are crafted with both purpose and beauty in mind. First published in 2001, this timeless utensil has remained a staple in kitchens that value simplicity and craftsmanship.

Crafted from mineral oiled bamboo with a stainless steel joint, the tongs combine natural warmth with durable, precise engineering. The bamboo's smooth finish is both tactile and hygienic, while the metal hinge ensures a firm, reliable grip with every use. As a hand wash only item, the Pick Up tongs are easy to maintain and built to last through repeated use in the kitchen or at the table.

The Pick Up Serving Tongs are available in three sizes, each suited to a different task. The Small (15 cm) is ideal for serving olives or ice cubes, the Medium (26 cm) doubles as a practical set of chopsticks, and the Large (34 cm) is perfectly suited for cooking or serving larger dishes. This range of sizes allows the tool to adapt effortlessly to different culinary needs, from food preparation to elegant tableside serving.

A refined addition to any kitchen or dining setting, the Pick Up tongs exemplify Stig Ahlström's ability to merge practicality with understated Scandinavian style—making them as suited to daily cooking as to serving guests with confidence and ease.
