Design House Stockholm Cinderella Table

Cinderella Table, designed by Anna Kraitz for Design House Stockholm, challenges the idea that furniture should serve only one purpose. Born from the humble ironing board, this multifunctional piece is adjustable in four heights, allowing it to move fluidly between roles: a nimble home office desk, a display surface for cherished objects, a temporary bar for entertaining, or a stylish sofa table by evening. A specially made, enclosed heat-resistant cover is included, transforming Cinderella into a fully functional ironing board whenever household chores call.

Crafted with sturdy legs in polyurethane lacquered solid oak, the tabletop features oak veneer with a firm, softly rounded rim in massive oak. A hand-sculpted nut joins the legs, adding an organic, artistic detail that reflects Kraitz's dual practice as designer and artist. The frame further incorporates MDF, powder-coated steel, stainless steel, and nickel-plated cast zinc alloy, while the included cover is made from cotton, thermolam, polyester, EPDM rubber, and aluminum.

Measuring 130 cm in width, 38 cm in depth, and 89.5 cm in height, and weighing 12 kg, Cinderella is built to adapt to compact urban living, where furniture must work harder and hide less. The unit should be wiped clean with a damp cloth, avoiding abrasive agents, while the cover requires dry cleaning only and should never be tumble dried or have its isolation pad washed.

Manufactured in Vietnam, Cinderella Table stands as a refined rethinking of an everyday object, ready to enrich any room without ever needing to be tucked away.
