Design House Stockholm Birds 1967 Mug

The Birds 1967 Mug by Design House Stockholm brings the celebrated artistry of Lisa Larson to everyday life, capturing the free-spirited energy of the late 1960s in a piece made for daily ritual. The design draws on Larson's original flock of hand-painted wooden birds, created during a formative stay in Sausalito, California, where she studied under ceramicist Peter Voulkos and absorbed the vibrant colors and spontaneous spirit of the Flower Power movement. Revived in close collaboration with the Larson family, these once-forgotten sculptures now live on as expressive patterns adorning a mug for modern tables.

Available in versions No. 1 through No. 8, each mug offers its own take on Larson's playful bird motifs, allowing you to choose the design that speaks to you or collect the full flock. Every version carries the same warmth, joy, and love of craft that defined the original sculptures, transforming a simple vessel into a small, wearable work of art.

Crafted from New Bone China in Thailand, the mug holds a capacity of 35 cl and is both dishwasher and microwave safe, making it as practical as it is decorative. Whether cradled in your hands during a quiet morning coffee or displayed on a shelf as a miniature artwork, the Birds 1967 Mug pays tribute to a story of creativity, freedom, and individuality that continues to resonate across generations.
